HUNDREDS of piglets are on the loose in the United States after a truck carrying 2200 of them overturned on a highway.
NUMEROUS agencies and volunteers worked to corral the animals after the crash on US Route 35 in Xenia Township, near Dayton, Ohio.
Crews picked up the squealing pigs by their hind legs and took them to Greene County Fairgrounds. Authorities say 300-400 pigs were killed but some of the animals have run into nearby woods. Authorities say the driver lost control and slammed into a guardrail. He was not hurt but a female passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
