No minister at summit due to Java wedding

INDONESIA did not send a minister to a two-day counter-terrorism summit in Sydney because the event clashed with the wedding of the president's eldest son.
INDONESIA'S ambassador to Australia Nadjib Riphat Kesoema is representing Jakarta at the summit instead.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and her deputy attended the wedding of President Joko Widodo's son Gibran Rakabuming Raka to former beauty queen Selvi Ananda on Thursday. An estimated 4000 guests were invited to the ceremony at Surakarta in central Java. The lack of Indonesian ministerial representation at the summit had been perceived as a snub in some Australian media reports. Attorney-General George Brandis played down the Indonesian ministerial absence saying he was satisfied with the Jakarta's commitment to the event. * The reporter travelled to Indonesia as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs journalists visits program 2015.
