Body found in suitcase at Tokyo Station

A WORKER at Japan's Tokyo Station has received an unpleasant shock after opening an abandoned suitcase: the decomposing body of an elderly woman.
JAPANESE media said the body was discovered on Sunday after the suitcase had been kept in temporary storage for more than a month to see if the owner would turn up.
The bright yellow suitcase measured 70cm by 50cm and was found in an unlocked locker at Tokyo's main train station on April 26. The body is 140cm tall. Police are trying to establish the woman's identity. Tokyo Station is one of the busiest in Japan, handling around 150 million passengers a year, operator JR East said. It is the terminus for a number of shinkansen bullet train lines, and is the connection point for many suburban and subway routes.
