Mother hears final words from 11-year-old daughter before she was shot dead by father

A MOTHER has heard the heartbreaking last words of her 11-year-old daughter before she was shot dead by her father.
“Daddy, daddy, what are you doing?” are the last words spoken by Tasha Jonas before her father, 49-year-old John Jonas, shot and killed her before turning the gun on himself reported WTKR news.
A neighbour found the bodies outside their Vine Grove home, near Fort Knox where John served as an Army Lieutenant Colonel.

Tasha moved from Suffolk to Kentucky with her father two years ago after her mother, Karina Jonas and her father split up. A friend of Karina’s, Tanja Manojlovic, said Karina had been fighting to get her daughter back.
“This definitely could have been prevented,” Manojlovic said.
“Besides a tremendous amount of grief, there’s an overwhelming amount of anger.”
A hearing was scheduled for August, where Manojlovic says Tasha could choose which parent she wanted to live with.

“When it’s all said and done, we all look back and feel like we’ve all betrayed her in some level,” she said. “The system has betrayed her.”
As yet no motive has been confirmed by police and the results of an autopsy are still pending.
A colleague of Karina’s said the tragedy has “hit home”.
“Somebody personal, somebody you’ve known for eight years, watching her grow up and then now nothing. She won’t grow up.”
Family friends have organised a gofundme page to raise money needed to bring Tasha back home to Virginia.
