Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs on 22 January, 2008. The Australian actor, who was 28 at the time of his death, left behind a daughter, Matilda, who is now eight. Heath later won a posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Dark Knight
